Half a century ago, in 1975, Harry Troelstra seeded the foundation of Garden Time with a passion for gardening and a vision to serve his community. What began as a modest nursery and garden center has flourished into a thriving business, expanding to include high-quality Amish outdoor structures and modular log cabins. Through decades of dedication, growth, and innovation, Garden Time has remained rooted in the same core values—exceptional products, expert service, and a commitment to helping our customers create beautiful outdoor spaces.
Over the years, Garden Time Inc. evolved to meet the changing needs of homeowners. What started as a garden center gradually expanded into selling outdoor sheds, gazebos, pavilions, pergolas, gazebos, furniture, custom-built outdoor structures, and modular log cabins. Harry’s philosophy of offering top-tier products with personalized service became the foundation for the company’s success.
In 1982, the business blossomed further with the opening of The Silo, a rustic and charming restaurant and gift shop that quickly became a beloved extension of the Garden Time experience. Offering delicious meals, unique treasures, and a warm atmosphere, The Silo reflects the Troelstra family’s commitment to creating spaces that bring people together.
Today, as we celebrate 50 years, we reflect on our journey with immense gratitude. Now led by Harry’s four sons and grandson, Garden Time continues to uphold the legacy of quality craftsmanship and customer care that has defined us since day one.

10-Year Limited Warranty
Here at Garden Time we stand behind our product and offer a 10 year Limited Warranty on our structures. This warranty covers your structure from any manufacturing defects that are not caused by normal wear and tear.
When used and maintained appropriately, Garden Time guarantees that our products will remain structurally sound. Normal wear and tear, fading of exterior surfaces, and general aging, which is common of any outdoor product that is exposed to natural elements, is not covered under warranty. As with a building which is located on top of the ground, settling may occur. You will also need to periodically clean, paint, caulk and keep vegetation from growing around the edges of your outdoor building which will cut off ventilation.
Many of our products also come with a manufacturers warranty. Please speak to your salesperson for more information.
The Silo
In 1982 The Silo Country Store was born. At first, there was just a small area for breakfast and lunch, but as the popularity of its food grew, The Silo saw a series of changes to make room for more dining space, and the name officially became The Silo Restaurant and Country Store.
